Shayan Khimji from Ontario has studied Medicine since 2021 and undertaken directed research at the Hospital for Sick Children. He has contributed to the Oshawa Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Center as a physiotherapy assistant and gave presentations encouraging seniors to incorporate balance exercises into daily life and to avoid preventable falls. Shayan Khimji has also undertaken pain medicine research and completed an observership at the Afiya Pain Clinic.
Mr. Khimji’s community-focused experience includes serving as a youth lead with the Ismaili Volunteer Corps in Scarborough. He mentored diverse youth while serving seniors in the local area. Organizing events, he provided guidance on religious ceremonies. Mr. Khimji’s volunteer background includes serving as a student ambassador with the World Partnership Walk and fundraising to provide urgently needed shelter, food, and medicine to vulnerable populations.
Mr. Khimji has a passion for sports and has competed with the Malvern Soccer Club and the Unionville Jets hockey team. Through these experiences, he values learning teamwork, making critical decisions under pressure, and testing endurance. Additionally, he is a fan of the NBA Toronto Raptors, the NFL Las Vegas Raiders, and the NHL Toronto Maple Leafs.
